Adichunchanagiri Institute of Technology was started during the year 1980 under the auspicious of Adhichunchanagiri Shikshana Trust(R) with the blessings of Jagadguru Padmabhushana Sri Sri Sri Dr. Balagangadharanatha Maha Swamiji to provide technical and other professional education in the rural area of Chikmagalur, The land of Coffee.

AIT is located in lush green, Picturesque Salubrious Hillock of Chikmagalur town, which is famous for Coffee and Tea plantations. The pleasant climate and pleasure giving natural sights and lakes have claimed the figurative title for the city as the Kashmir of Karnataka.
